About Amanda Cox

The story of Amanda Cox...

Amanda's jewellery, which includes her signature range - the delicately beautiful 'Lily Collection', creates not only elegant bridal and partnership pieces, but also bold modern chunky designs available in silver and gold. Her unique and classic designs, drawing inspiration from nature, include vintage style retro jewels and bold statement pieces where wearing one or two items can transform an outfit.

Amanda studied jewellery & silversmithing at Plymouth College of Art & Design in the mid 70's and went on to employment as designer/maker in the trade in Birmingham's historic Jewellery Quarter and there after in London. In the 80's to early 90's she set up her first workshop in Hatton Garden and leased a stall at Covent Garden's Craft Market; had a workshop in Birmingham's Craft Market and a jewellery studio and gallery in Plymouth. Between 1989 and 1998 Amanda was a lecturer at Plymouth College of Art & Design. Leaving Devon in the late summer of '98, Amanda returned to her original passion – designing and creating jewellery collections at her studio now based in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire.

“I always loved creating as a child and became passionate about jewellery making after my sister returned, jewellery clad, from the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970. I made costume jewellery from ironmongers wire and leather, sold it to school friends and had my first shop order when just a young teenager."
